Naturopathy and Nutritional Therapy - Reproductive Health Screening
Natural Conception
Nature is amazingly astute and the Naturopathic opinion is that if the body is not 'balanced' it will not consider procreation as a number one priority.
YOU are the most important thing to the body, and unless your health is in balance, your body will not consider creating or sustaining another life. This is equally relevant to both sexes.
Our Fertility Programme is more precise than others
Many clinics still use questionnaires to determine nutritional, hormonal and toxicity levels. Our Fertility programme is more precise than others as we use the 'Health Detective' Screening system to accurately monitor your state of health, removing the guesswork out of the consultation and accurately assessing your unique requirements.
We work in a threefold manner - Consultation, Identification and Treatment.
The Consultation serves to establish your past and current history regarding diet, lifestyle, exercise and medications - all of which will have had some effect on the body.
The Fertility Programme Identification starts with the 'Health Detective' revolutionary Screening System which is especially effective in identifying anything that is out of balance in the body. We check for vitamin and mineral deficiencies as they are the key nutrients that are important for sperm quality and cervical secretions. We check your pH to ensure that you are not over-acidic as this can cause a hostile environment or over-alkaline which is equally important.
Hormonal balance is vital and although your GP or Consultant will have checked blood levels, we use a very sensitive system to check for sub-clinical changes in the hormones and endocrine glands. This has proved invaluable with many of our clients who suffer blood sugar imbalances, adrenal exhaustion or low thyroid.
For the body to be in its most receptive state, it is important that the tissues are being bathed in non-toxic lymph and blood, the hormones are balanced, the bowel is eliminating effectively, the body is hydrated with enough water and essential fat, foods are acting as food for the body i.e. non-processed and organic, and you are not intolerant to anything.
Iridology (the study of the iris) is used to determine factors that may be preventing conception. Often the root cause can be seen within the markings of the iris even when all Gynaecological scans give the 'all clear'. Iridology can offer precise information relating to the nerve/ blood supply to a particular organ/ gland or even show if the liver or bowel are potentially congested. It also determines the integrity of the female and male systems and looks at other potential areas of weakness.
We employ extensive testing to ensure that we have considered all angles and to get a complete picture of your health. These tests need to be performed on both male and female.
Treatment consists of a Programme tailored for each individual, this may include a short detoxification period, nutritional balancing and the use of herbal medicines to establish hormonal balance and support of the internal organs.
Our Programme also assists men by offering nutritional support and supplements that can help to boost overall health and energy levels as well as fertility. Zinc and fish oil have been shown to improve sperm count and, if required, you should also consider on cutting down on alcohol, smoking, poor diet and lifestyle, all of which can seriously hinder male fertility.
Our specialist practitioner will provide couples with a personalised diet and nutrition plan as well as prescribing any natural supplements or herbal tinctures that are needed to reach optimum health for fertility. An initial consultation is followed up after six weeks to ensure that any toxins or intolerances have been cleared successfully.
Conceiving with IVF
Our specialist IVF programme helps couples with nutritional support and supplements that can help to boost fertility levels and chances of success during IVF treatment. Zinc and fish oil have been shown to improve sperm count and your practitioner will also advise on cutting down on alcohol, smoking and poor diet and lifestyle, all of which can seriously hinder male and female fertility.
Our specialist practitioner will provide couples with a pre-IVF personalised diet and nutrition plan, as well as prescribing any natural supplements that are needed to reach optimum health for preparation for IVF. Ideally, couples should come for an initial consultation as early as possible before IVF, which is followed up after six weeks to ensure that any toxins or intolerances have been cleared successfully before IVF commences.
During IVF treatment, herbal treatment and certain supplements are not recommended but certain foods can be employed to prepare the body for each stage of the protocol. For example, after transfer, certain foods are very effective in helping to calm the nervous system and foods that are too stimulating, such as caffeine, or contain high levels of toxins/ additives are avoided.
